The Lighting Quotient Introduces tambient® L805; Becomes One of the Only Title 24 Compliant Products on Market
6/09/2014
NEW HAVEN, CONN. and CHICAGO, IL (June 9, 2014) - The Lighting Quotient®, a leading U.S. manufacturer of energy efficient lighting fixtures, is today announcing the launch of its newest product, an intelligent Task/Ambient LED luminaire with VESA mounting called the L805, part of the tambient® family. The announcement was made today at NeoCon, North American’s largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors, with an estimated attendance of more than 40,000 architecture and design professionals.
The L805 is an intelligent LED luminaire that provides both task lighting and ambient lighting from a single fixture and mounts to all VESA standard monitor and display mounting devices, making it an excellent lighting solution for work spaces. It is compatible with a variety of auxiliary controls including desk mounted occupancy sensors.
The L805 lighting fixture joins several energy saving, eco-friendly products offered in the tambient family of The Lighting Quotient products. Representing a paradigm shift in lighting design practice, tambient consolidates two-component lighting systems into a single luminaire, eliminating the need for overhead lighting.
“The L805 is the first LED product from tambient,” said Paul Ford, Vice President of Design at The Lighting Quotient. “Our customers have been looking for a product that brings the latest LED technology but also has innovative design and functionality - the L805 accomplishes that and more.”
The L805 is the only Title 24 compliant all-in-one task/ambient luminaire. Title 24 is a California state law that takes affect on July 1, 2014 and requires all lighting to be dimmable and have vacancy sensors, among other things.
“As we move towards new codes and regulations within the industry, it is important that as a company, we adapt to the ever-changing markets’ needs,” added Allison Schieffelin Walker, Chairman and CEO of The Lighting Quotient. “The L805 is truly a first of its kind.”
The L805 has two modes of operation – “private office mode” and “open office mode.” Private mode is used for private offices and the user has full control of both the task and ambient lights. Open office mode is used for open plan offices where the user has control of the task light only and the ambient lighting portions of multiple fixtures are controlled together using room controls.
Additional unique features of the product include LED end-of-life notification, built-in standby and override timers, plug-and-play connections for wireless daylight and demand response dimming, occupancy sensors that dim the fixture when the workstation is vacated.
As an added benefit, each tambient L805 comes standard with advanced push-button programming features for task tuning in the field. This allows designers and facility managers to fine-tune the lighting power density based on occupant densities and to adjust the luminaire energy consumption and output for specific workplace applications.
Dave Pfund, president of tambient at The Lighting Quotient will be speaking at NeoCon on Tuesday, June 10 at 2:30 p.m. on “Lighting and the Collaborative Workplace.” The L805 will be on display immediately following his presentation in the OFS Brands Showroom #1132 from 4:00 – 5:30pm as part of a cocktail reception sponsored by The Lighting Quotient.
